“Havana Cafe.” From 9AM to 9PM every weekday, except Tuesday’s, 9AM to 10PM Friday and Saturday, and 2:30PM to 8PM on Sunday they greet their customers gladly serving up their favorites like the traditional “Ropa Vieja,” beef with red sauce, and “Arroz Imperial,” a steamy chicken and rice casserole.
Customers, especially new ones, will often ask Brenda and Edith just how they are able to run a Cuban restaurant without being from Cuba.
“It has nothing to do with where you’re from,” they explain. With almost three decades experience in Cuban food, not to mention praise from other Cuban chefs and people, they confidently proclaim themselves experts. They put the same love into their cooking as they do into their family and church, and it shows as soon as you enter the cosy, orange restaurant, are seated at your table, and take the first bite of the food.
