Shrinking the Globe & Creating a Village

A place to eat. A place to shop. A place to be.

Register for the International Marketplace Coalition’s Restaurant Training Program sponsored by Sojos Capital

Local company, Sojos Capital, recently unveiled its multi-million-dollar plans to create a mixed-use landmark destination development known as Window to the World, currently Lafayette Square Mall, in the International Marketplace neighborhood. Plans will also include multiple surrounding properties within the area; focused on dining, music, art, shopping, housing, office, youth education, sports, entertainment, infrastructure improvements and public safety. It's an exciting time in our area!
As part of its efforts, Sojos Capital, in conjunction with the International Marketplace Coalition, will work with local restaurants to provide training resources to further uplift the community as the area continues to grow.
We are looking for five restaurants to participate in a FREE three-day training from Tuesday, Jan. 11 to Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Training will take place at the Global Village Welcome Center (4233 Lafayette Road). During this intense session, topics covered will include operations, best practices, purchasing, staffing, interior design, social media and more will be covered. You will receive valuable information, checklists, insight and training. This program will allow us to further elevate the incredible culinary scene with the goal of bringing more diners to your restaurant and others in the International Marketplace.
Upon training completion, the Sojos Capital team will continue to work with the selected restaurants for a three-month period to provide additional services and resources at no cost. Specifically, Sojos Capital is underwriting three months of professional photography, social media management, website creation/updates, menu design, interior design suggestions, operational aspects and general consulting. Overall, the three-day training and following three-month program is free for the participating restaurants – equaling more than $30,000 in services. If your restaurant wishes to continue working with the training team after the three-month period, you will be responsible for covering those costs.
Because this is a free program, we require restaurants to be available from Tuesday, Jan. 11 to Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. for the training. Please do not apply for this opportunity unless you are able to commit to the training dates and agree to actively participate in the program.
