African Unity Fest

The African Unity Fest is a day of family fun celebrating the cultural diversity of Africa. The festival features arts, fashion, dance, music, food and many other activities that create a friendly atmosphere for everyone. This event celebrates diversity through the presentation of arts and crafts, cultural dances,  speakers, music, food, and traditional commodities in the marketplace. We invite ALL communities to join us in this cultural immersion. We encourage all African communities and cultures to join us in creating an exciting atmosphere for the public to learn about our cultures. Showcasing the vibrant multiculturalism and diversity of the African community in Indiana.

The event will take place on Saturday, April 23, and is hosted by the African Council of Indiana in partnership with the International Marketplace Coalition and the Global Village Welcome Center. The African Council of Indiana exists to

raise awareness around and advocate for issues affecting African communities in Indiana. The Council has spearheaded various programs under the 5 pillars to Advance, Collaborate, Advocate, Impact and Celebrate the African community in

Indiana. The event venue is an extension of community building as the Global Village Welcome Center, exists as a place where people can explore, connect and celebrate their cultures and traditions. 

The event will kick-off with a parade at noon.
