About the Event

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, the International Marketplace Coalition, in partnership with SADCO, will host the inaugural Latino Heritage Festival on Saturday, Sept. 18, from 1 to 5 p.m. The festival will feature performances from local cultural groups, food trucks, nonprofit and Latino vendors and cultural galleries.

Performance groups include:

  • Grupo Bembe
  • Harpist Rodrigo Hernandez
  • Danza Maya Tlaolli
  • Alexander Coleman Dance Company
  • Mary Fredette with Mariachi Sol Jalisciense
  • Pavel Polanco-Safadit with band
  • Indy Peruvian Incan Cultural Association
  • Guatemalan dancers

Attendees will be able to experience:

  • Cultural displays featuring artifacts from Latino organizations
  • Games including loteria and serpientes y escaleras
  • Interactive dances with El Sebucan, from the Venezuelan Association of Indiana, and SAYAW: Philippine Cultural Dance Company

  • Giovanna’s Peruvian Art

The Carmel Prescription Shop will offer a no-appointment-necessary COVID-19 vaccination clinic on-site during the event.
